Mike Holmes is obsessed with wood. He can barely fetch a log for the fire without ‘saving it' and giving it a second chance, crafting it into something desirable for the home.

With a kitchen over-loaded with platters and chopping boards, wife Mary finally snaps and tells him to stop making them and start selling  some of those ****in’ things! So he did; testing the waters at local farmers' markets and Christmas fairs. They were a hit... and the holmes-made brand was born.

Alongside saving logs from the woodshed, Mike also does have a day job... in fact, he has lots of day jobs. He calls it his 'portfolio career'!

Design & illustration
Mike has had an award winning 25 year career in creative design and advertising, having worked in top London agencies before setting up M&M Creative with wife Mary in 2005. Samples of the diverse range of what they can offer can be seen at mandmcreative.co.uk

Shop signage
Combining his love of wood with his design skills, Mike worked closely with the food retailer COOK, to develop the brand look for the facia signage for their high street shops. He now hand makes and installs all their signage across their nationwide estate. Examples can be seen in our gallery

Handyman services
